Passenger attendants (volunteer)

Are you an energetic and positive individual who thrives on exceptional customer service? Would you enjoy working on the beautiful two carriage solar powered heritage rail motor in Byron Bay?

Passenger Attendants are required to undertake a broad range of station functions with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. Functions include responding confidently, courteously and efficiently to customer enquiries, ticket sales, ensuring the safety of customers and maintaining the presentation of stations and our heritage train.

Essential

  • Meet fitness for work requirements in respect to health standards and alcohol and drug policies.
  • Possess appropriate literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Be rail safety worker qualified or be capable of successfully completing rail safety training.
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Be customer service driven.

Desirable

  • Experience working with railways
  • First aid certificate

Key responsibilities

  • Attend to passenger requirements, including in abnormal or emergency conditions.
  • Ticketing and fare collection.
  • Work under instruction and guidance from the Manager Rail Safety and drivers.
  • Participate in safety culture development and programs. Report and document all incidents of breaches of OH&S regulations and company policy.
  • Maintain flexible work arrangements (duties may include general office and project work).
  • Be available to work within a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
